Inc. named Catalyte as one of its “Best in Business” in 2020. It awarded us this honor for our use of machine learning and predictive analytics to remove the unconscious bias from hiring, our training and software developer apprenticeship that creates a new, diverse generation of tech talent and the launch of RetrainAmerica, which extends the promise of retraining and a new career to a greater number of Americans.
Inc. bestowed this inaugural award on companies that made an outsized impact this year, leaving “collaborators, clients, customers, employees, and surroundings better off than when [they] found them.”
This award caps an impressive year for Catalyte. In 2020, the company:
- Opened its sixth development center in Phoenix-Scottsdale
- Powered the formation and launch of RetrainAmerica, a national exchange to connect anyone with an opportunity to get retrained for jobs of the future
- Continued our software developer training program, bringing people hope of a new career in the midst of the pandemic
- Started a retraining program with Koch Industries to find and train developers from the local Wichita, Kan. community
- Created a Software Development Fellowship to build a sustainable pipeline of local tech talent for Baltimore City
- Launched Create Opportunity Columbia, an initiative to train people in the Midlands region of S.C. from non-technical backgrounds to become software engineers
“If in January you showed me this list, I would have been very happy with the continued growth of the company,” said CEO Jacob Hsu. “The fact that our team was able to accomplish all this during a global pandemic that fundamentally changed how the world does business is herculean. I could not be more in awe of the work everyone at Catalyte does to ensure the continued success of our customers and to blaze a trail for anyone to begin and advance a career in technology. This Best in Business award is a direct result of these individual efforts, compounded day-after-day.”
