To improve patient outcomes while reducing costs, many healthcare providers are using technology to allow patients to age in place.
Part of this revolution in healthcare is the use of IoT sensors that can monitor daily habits for irregularities that may signal potential health issues. These applications can detect patterns from big data faster than doctors or nursing staff. But, for healthcare professionals to be able to interpret the data correctly, it must be displayed in an easy-to-use manner.
This was the problem facing the county’s largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services. It needed to improve and streamline the UI/UX of the application used to monitor IoT sensor data. It also needed to reimagine the application’s architecture to make it more scalable.
Catalyte was able to assist in both capacities simultaneously. We ran design sprints in parallel with agile development to reduce overall project time and maximize stakeholder participation and feedback.
The results?
- Improved quality of patient care
- A more productive/efficient application
- Improved user satisfaction
- Increased flexibility and lower costs to scale the application
