The Maryland Tech Council (MTC) has named Catalyte CEO Jacob Hsu as a finalist for its “Chief Executive Officer of the Year – Technology” award. Winners will be announced May 20th part of MTC’s Industry Awards Celebration.
In 2020, despite the pandemic and economic downturn, Jacob led Catalyte’s expansion and growth to offer additional technology career opportunities to more Marylanders and Americans across the country from unexpected backgrounds. This included, among other things:
- Launching RetrainAmerica in partnership with numerous Baltimore/Maryland-area businesses, government agencies and nonprofits.
- Partnering with local organizations to create a Software Development Fellowship that supplies a sustainable pipeline of local tech talent for Baltimore City government agencies.
- Continuing company growth and expansion with the opening of its sixth development center in Phoenix-Scottsdale, bringing tech retraining opportunities to the country’s 10th largest metro area.
“The nominations for this year’s Industry Award Celebrations showcased the talents and achievements of these individuals and companies in the government contracting, life sciences and technology industries, especially in a year with unprecedented challenges,” said the IAC committee co-chairs, Tony Deflumeri, the Atlantic Region Director of Business Development for BDO and Howard S. Rothman, Vice President, JP Morgan Wealth Management. “The finalists in each category exemplify the dedication to improving lives and being leaders in the industry, not only in the region but beyond. We are proud of the work by the nominating committee for this year’s event and look forward to connecting with the finalists in the upcoming weeks and celebrating the winners at the upcoming virtual celebration.”
